May 2, 2024 Social Meeting Announcement

In lieu of our standard monthly business meeting, on Thursday May 2nd, we will meet at 5:00pm for an early dinner together at La Taberna Steak and Tapas Bar, 31 W Madison Ave, Dumon, NJ 07628.

We support Toys for Tots efforts working with the Marine Corps Reserve and the Toys for Tots Foundation to raise millions of dollars for the youth of America, collect and distribute millions of toys all across the United States.

WHAT WE DO

We support our local area Veteran Homes by volunteering, bingo games, and other opportunities as called upon.

We represent the United States Marine Corps at July 4th and other parades and ceremonies in our area.

We donate our time and financial resources to respectable local charities including NJ Vietnam Veterans Memorial, local Fire Departments, Volunteer Ambulance companies and others.

We recognize America's future leaders for earning the Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award by presenting them the Marine Corps League's "Good Citizenship Award" Certificate throughout Bergen County, NJ.

A note from our Commandant

The members of the Gooney Bird Detachment join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps.

We share a respect for our nation, the loyalty of our own, and the pride of being a part of a tradition of excellence. If you're a Marine or a Corpsman, I invite you to join us at our next meeting.
